Finding System Requirement Information in Mac OS 9.x

  1. Click on the Apple Menu and select About This Computer.

    2. Important note: The Finder must be in the foreground in order to access About This Computer.
    Simply click anywhere on the desktop to bring the Finder into the foreground.

  2. In the About This Computer window you will find:
    • Version of Mac OS
    • Amount of Built-in Memory (RAM)
    Click the close button in the upper left corner when done.

  3. Click once on the hard drive icon to highlight it.

  4. Click on the File Menu. Mouse down to Get Info and select General Information.

  5. In the Info box you will find the amount of available hard drive space.

    6. Click the close button in the upper left corner when done.

  6. You now know the version of the operating system, the amount of RAM, and the available hard drive space.
