This page is a walk through on how to add a protocol in Windows ME (and 98). You may need the Windows CD.
- Click Start --> Settings and choose Control Panels.
- Locate and double click on the
icon
- Click the Add... button in the Network window.
- Click on Protocol and then click the Add...
- Select Microsoft and TCP/IP and click OK.
- You may see this dialog box requesting a disk.
- Insert the Windows ME (or 98) CD.
- Click the Browse... button.
- After clicking the Browse button you will see a dialog box like the one pictured below.
- The file may be located in the Windows directory, or you may need to locate the files on the CD.
- If the files are on the CD change the drive designation to D: and located the file. Ensure that the file name shows twice on the left side of the window as pictured below.
- After the files have been located click OK and Windows will copy the files. Windows will need to be restarted after copying the files.
