Karen, YOU are amazing!!
The 3 Day crew is the best! They have unlimited enthusiasm and energy.
With another set of cheerleaders ushering us in we're coming into either a pit stop or grab-n-go..I never really knew which one. All I wanted to do was fill up my water bottle, grab some fruit and keep going.
I think the cheerleaders were geniunely interested in what was going on. I really appreciated them coming out.
I would absolutely love to have this car! I'd have to adjust a bit of the bras though...not seeing any training bras here are you-I'd fix that.
I really didn't know where I was or where I was going the second day-I'm not overly familiar with Everett. I did note we crossed over Old 99/Aurora several times. If there was a complaint I'd have it was the terrain. There was a lot of up & down-not all that unexpected, but a ton of side to side and everything in between. It beats the crap out of your feet and tires the legs.
As I said, I didn't really know where I was or were going---I just thought this was a lovely view.
The ultimate in neighborhood support!
I didn't wear my tutu this year, but I am SO there with this darn cute set of sisters.
The second day route took us on to a paved trail-it was great to be away from the cars, but there wasn't a lot of shade from the sun. I'm not fond of Gatorade, but I decided to give gatoritas a try....delicious!!
This year the village had a massage tent..ahhhh. It was a very popular place and I feel lucky I was able to sign up.
Each day of the 3 Day had special significance...Friday, of course, was 10yrs since the 9-11 terrorist attack. I carried a US flag in addition to my 3 Day flag. There were US flags flying at businesses and most homes. The second day was wedding day. Arlene's son, Ryan was married as well as a couple of crew members. The first year I did the 3 Day there was a wedding (remember the groom's tshirt: "My wife walked 60 miles to marry me?") This groom wrote a lovely poem for the bride declaring his love and commitment to her in addition to continuing to crew for long as it takes until breast cancer is no longer....maybe you had to be there, but it was very romantic.
Note: Just as Seafair has its Seafair Pirates so too, the 3 Day has its Breast Pirates.
