The Common Sense Mom's Apple Crisp Recipe
Apple mixture:
3 lb. bag of baking apples, peeled, cored, sliced
(this is about 8-10 cups, use at least 3 lbs, can use more)
1 c. sugar
¼ c. flour
1 t. cinnamon
Pinch nutmeg
Pinch salt
Toss all of the above to mix. Spread into 9X13 baking dish. Dot with butter (optional).
Topping:
½ c. margarine, slightly softened
½ c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
½ c. quick oatmeal
Pinch cinnamon
Pinch allspice (optional)
Use a fork to mix topping until crumbly. Sprinkle over apple mixture. Bake at 375 for 40 minutes.
