Recipe for Party Brownies
The CommonSenseMom's Party Brownies
These brownies are dressed up and ready to go out! They are perfect for picnics and potlucks, especially if there will be kids in attendance.
4 squares unsweeted chocolate
3/4 c. butter (1.5 sticks)
3 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla
1/4 c. skim milk
1.25 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/3 c. chocolate chips (optional)
1/2 can ready-to-spread frosting, white or chocolate(optional)
colorful ice cream sprinkles (optional)
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease bottom and sides of a 13X9 inch pan. I prefer to use a glass baking dish.
Melt the butter and chocolate squares together in large glass bowl in the microwave about 2.5 minutes. Mix in the sugar thoroughly. Add eggs, vanilla, and milk. Beat by hand. Add flour, baking soda, and salt and mix until well blended. Add chocolate chips, if desired.
Pour into prepared pan and bake for about 31 minutes.
When cool, frost with a thin layer of icing and top with sprinkles for a festive treat. Let icing dry for about 1/2 an hour, then cut and cover.
If you want to sneak in a little extra nutrition, replace half of the all-purpose flour with white whole wheat flour. They'll never know the difference.
