Around here, Sam's Club is the best place to buy yeast. You get two 1-pound packages for under $4. That is a much better price than those envelopes or little brown jars at the grocery store. Depending how much yeast you use, the savings might even pay for a Sam's Club membership. Or keep your eyes open for a visitor's coupon that let's you shop at Sam's for 1 day and pay a 10% markup.

Yeast keeps for a long time in the freezer. In fact, I always keep my yeast in a jar in the freezer. You can just add it to your recipe straight from the freezer.
