Health as Virtue

I've been turning this quote by Yuval Levin over in my mind since I read it the other day:
"health has usurped the place of virtue" in our society.

If many of us were honest with ourselves, we might admit that it is more important to us to be thought of as healthy, youthful, and vigorous than it is to be thought honest, trustworthy, and hardworking.
