Volunteer Opportunities

    The Community Ministry of North Augusta depends on volunteers for both donations and staffing.  Our goal is to provide emergency assistance to those in need in our community.  Listed below are some of the various opportunities with which CMONA needs assistance:

• Cashier - Operates cash register in Thrift Store.
• Receptionist - Answers phones and greets clients who come in requesting assistance.
• Interviewer - Interviews clients to determine needs and how they can be helped.
• Food Pantry - Prepares food bags for clients. Organizes and stocks food coming into the pantry.
• Sales Assistant - Places merchandise on sales floor and assists customer in finding items in Thrift Store.
• Sorters - Sorts merchandise coming into the Ministry and prepares items for the sales floor.
• General Maintenance - Performs general maintenance tasks for CMONA building and grounds.
• Janitorial - Empties wastebaskets, runs the vacuum, sweeps floors, and does general cleaning tasks around the building.
• Furniture Pickup - Picks up large donations - furniture, appliances, etc.

    All volunteers must go through training for the job.  The length of training depends on the particular job chosen.  Scheduling is very flexible - determined by the job and by the volunteer's needs and availability.
