Jazz. Though bass guitar was Sonny’s first instrument, his true love at this stage of his musical life is upright bass, and he plays with passion and energy in a number of jazz styles   swing, smooth jazz, fusion, bebop, and Latin including bossa, salsa, merenge, cumbia, and Tex-Mex. This versatility has made him a valuable and sought after upright bassist with a variety of ensembles in northern New England. Sonny is known for his creative bass lines and energetic, physical style. Sonny’s versatility is evident in the diversity of local ensembles with which he plays such as the Sonny Feliciano Trio, the Janice Edwards Trio, the Jaywalkin Jazz Quintet, and the Swunk Brothers.

Friday's AlibiClassic Rock. In 2005, Sonny met Joe Brancato of Friday’s Alibi, a New Hampshire rock ‘n roll group known primarily for playing rock music of the 60s, 70s and 80s. Paul Cascio, the leader of Friday’s Alibi, had heard about Sonny and invited him to a rehearsal and then a gig...it turned out to be a great fit, and Sonny has played 4 and 5-string guitar with Friday’s Alibi nearly every weekend ever since.

Sonny Feliciano Jazz TrioThe Jazz Trio.   Performing regularly at weddings, restaurants, concerts, and private functions, the Jazz Trio features Will Carver on guitar, Scoop Lahey on flute and saxophones, and Sonny on upright bass.  This tight threesome plays everything from swing and bebop, to latin and blues; from Ellington to Monk and everything inbetween.

Sonny’s first rock band was The Splenders, in which he played bass from the age of 15 to 19.

At age 19, he founded a rock band called Rosetta Stone that played in the New York metro area, as well as upstate New York, Puerto Rico and Florida.
