Other Fascinating Things About Corrie

I am drawn to mountains. I think it's the German half of me, the blood of my Grosseltern who met on a skiing holiday in the Alps. The Sierras are near and dear to my heart, but having moved around quite a bit in the past few years, I've discovered it doesn't take me long to search out the highest point and scramble my way up for a look-see.

Hiking, tramping, backpacking, bushwalking... if it gets me out into the wilds, I'm there.  If you ask me where to go, I'll tell you to let John Muir be your guide through Yosemite, the Minarets and the southern Sierra crags around Mt. Whitney. Or follow Charlie Douglas down the West Coast of New Zealand. Find out more about some of my favorite trips around the world here.

Other fascinating things about me... hmmm

I can greet you in 8 different languages (but don't ask me to say anything beyond good day!).

I can juggle.

I love to cook. I learned cucinare Italiano while living with a family in Siena, but having since lived on the cusp of Koreatown and the Byzantine-Latino Quarter of Los Angeles my cooking has taken on new flavors. While in New Zealand I learned how to bake a decent scone and avoid Vegemite and Pavlova. Now my Puerto Rican flatmate is trading secrets with me. Please send me your favorite recipe!
