Yes, I am once again a city dweller. Auckland has its charms to be sure. Here's a quick tour of my 'hood.

Piha is a surfer's paradise in summer but solitary and wild in the winter chill. Climbing the  Lion Rock to a comfortable perch on the mane gives a sweeping view of the waves.

        The Harbour Bridge links Auckland City with the North Shore. I almost never drive over it, though, because the ferry crosses the bay from Devonport in a third of the time it would take me to drive! The bridge is also one of the best places (so I've heard) for bungy jumping. But the top spot is naturally the Sky Tower.

Weekly dinners with flatmates are a tradition. This week Sarah from the UK cooks us a traditional Sunday roast. Her mother would be proud.
