I (Bruce) bought this car at the end of August 1997. It is a 1969 Cougar Standard Hardtop, in very nice shape. The only signs of rust are some small blisters in the paint on the fenders behind each rear wheel. The floorboards look perfect. The hood and bumper each have minor damage from a parking lot hit (the front grille and lights are fine). It has factory air, power steering, power disc brakes, and power windows.

The previous owner put a lot of work in it. He had this standard car and an XR­7. This car had a solid body, the XR­7 did not. He took the interior, dash, wiring harnesses, and styled-steel wheels from the XR­7 and put them on/into the standard car. He put a brand new (not rebuilt) 1997 351­W Ford engine in it and had the transmission rebuilt. Since then, the car has had less than 3000 miles on it. The tires and window rubber are new. The windshield and back window are new. The exhaust system is new. The leather seats have been redone.

There have been some modifications done to it, other than mentioned above. It is has a modern sunroof and a hood scoop from a Mustang. It has a modern stereo and power amplifier. The door panels have been cut for speakers (the one thing that was not done well). It has an after-market 4­barrel intake and 4­barrel carburetor. It does have a few electrical problems, and the engine compartment needs to be restored.
