Hiking Trails in East Tennessee

Welcome to the web site of the Cove Lake Hiking Club, the Cove Lake Chapter of the Tennessee Trails Association.  We are a hiking club located in East Tennessee, near Caryville, Jacksboro, and La Follette, Tennessee.  We enjoy hiking the Cumberland Trail, a Tennessee Linear State Park, several miles of which pass through our own Campbell County.  We also enjoy hiking other natural areas such as Cove Lake State Park, Cumberland Gap National Historic Park, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area, and the Norris Watershed area.  We find satisfaction also in giving back to the trail systems in Tennessee by being active in trail building and maintenance.

We hold monthly meetings at 6:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month.  During the months of January through March, and in November, these meetings are held at the La Follette Recreation Center, in downtown La Follette.  April through October, the meetings are held at one of the picnic pavilions (usually #1) at Cove Lake State Park, in Caryville.  Newcomers are always welcome at these meetings, which are usually an hour in length and followed by a trip to a local restaurant (on months when we don't have a potluck supper).
