This picture of Agua Fria was taken around 1851. Agua Fria (Spanish for cold water) was a gold mining community with lots of gold and lots of activity. For a short period of time, it was the county seat of Mariposa County, the largest county in California. At this stop, Stop #2, Jim Trapp talks of gold, its qualities, and why it is valuable.
