Universalist Unitarian Church Summer Solstice Sundown Service - Sacred Texts

This service will be done in Taizé style to provide a setting where folks can
be still and present in community. Taizé is traditionally a candlelight service
with reflective music and chants, readings, and times of silence for quiet
contemplation in order to “recharge spiritual batteries.” In the spirit of
prayer, the music invites us to enter the depths of our being through simple,
meditative chants sung over and over again. There are times of silence,
especially one long silence during which all who are gathered are invited to
remain quiet and open to a deep quality of soul or transcendent spirit.
