ABOUT THE AUDIO RECORDINGS AND GUIDEBOOK: Through their ceremonies Navajo people get in touch with their environmental surroundings, thereby relating to the harsh and healing realities of the on-going ceremony of nature.  In this book we use the ceremony of the Navajo Coyoteway Blessingway ceremony  to learn to live in balance with your Creator, the earth and our fellow human beings.  We will learn to understand the Navajo Coyoteway Blessingway Ceremony in our own language so that we can live fully, joyously in the natural place given to us.  Bible studies help us to see Jesus Christ through coyote eyes—a vision at first arrogant and exploitive, then humble and healing.

WHO SHOULD GET THIS BOOK?: first, those looking for healing and wholeness and those who are helping others get well; second, Native people who want to see connections of traditional ceremonies to present day realities; third, those who want to understand implications of Native American Indian experience for their own good and the good of all; fourth, religious and community leaders who want to work in a cross-cultural context, particularly with Native people; fifth, people who wish to take a fresh look at ways nature and society are related.

EACH SESSION HAS A BIBLE STUDY.  Many Native American Indians and other readers are Christians.  We bring the Coyoteway Blessingway Ceremony and Christ together to help us see Jesus as he is revealed in the New Testament.  By following the flow of the ceremony Christ’s ministry of freeing and healing takes on vital, sometimes surprising meaning.  Conversely much “coyoteing around” becomes revealed for what it is--greedy desires and actions that lead to ruin and murder, the very motivations that led the religious and political leaders of his day to kill Jesus.

All proceeds from sales go to support Rev Cook in his ministries in his Navajo Community.
