MidTown Rules - High-Low Snowball!! This is a single elimination Snowball High-Low style tournament…with an added twist... Not only will you have to toss out your highest and lowest scores, but you will carry your score with you to the next round. This continues on through to the Finals. Hence, the scores from each match accumulating, snowballing larger & larger with each round. Players advancing to next round carry their previous final score with them. This score will be added to your total score for the next round to determine the winner of that round. This continues on through out the tournament to the Finals. Examples of score advancing For Players that advance to next round after match play: To determine the score to carry forward, Players first discard their highest and lowest scores. Then Players add the remaining scores together. Player with highest score is declared the winner. If Player has advanced, they take the total of the remaining games that were added together to the next match, adding it to the score. Again, Player with the highest score advances. For new opponent's benefit, players must announce their accumulating score carried from previous match, before beginning their next round of match play. Examples of score advancing Number of games for tournament is 5. Player then discards the highest and lowest scores out of the 5 games. (If Player had 1,000, 2,000, 4,000, 5,000 and 10,500 as their scores, then the 1,000 and 10,500 would be thrown out.) Player now adds the remaining 3 scores together. (2,000+4,000+5,000 = 11,000.) The Player with the highest score is declared the winner and advances. That Player would then use 11,000 as their carry-over score for the second round. At the end of the next round, that Player would then add the current round's score - less the highest and lowest games they played - together with the 11,000 from their previous carry-over score. That total determines the winner of the match and is then carried on to the next round in the tournament. For Players that have byes for their first round: The total "average" score found in the Player's stats is used. Player's stats can be found by double-clicking on their name. Average game score will appear at the top of the box that pops up. Player then takes that average score and multiplies by the number of games being added together. For example: Player's average score is 10,500. Player would then multiply this by 3 (5 games less the highest and lowest scores = 3 games) to determine their score. This is the score that will be carried forward to their next match. Players must announce this score before beginning their match play for opponent's benefit. All rounds will consist of 5 games each including the Final round. Always make sure your Opponent has entered your room before beginning your game. If you start before your Opponent enters your room, you must restart your game. If you were not in an Opponent's room before they started their game, you must notify them before they finish and post their score for that game. If you do not notify your Opponent before they have posted their score, then that posted score will stand and they will not have to re-start their game. Once tourney starts, Players will have 5 minutes to begin their first game. No-shows will be reported as a loss. Player listed on top of bracket starts first. ALL scores are to be announced and acknowledged in chat by everyone playing in the tourney. All losses are to be reported on TOURNEY PAGE ONLY!!!!!! If you have to type in a name, you are reporting on the wrong page!!!!! If a Player is disconnected from Hermanubis for any reason, Player must start game over. Unless INVITED by their opponent to do otherwise. If a Player was disconnected and has to reboot, they will have 8 minutes (no ping) or 3 minutes (ping present AND delaying the match) to return to Hemanubis. Multiple reboots may result in disqualification from tournament play and a loss being posted for that Player at the discretion of the Tournament Director. While playing your game, if your OPPONENT is booted - you must halt play immediately and contact the hosting TD, who will then verify your score. Failure to do so will result in replay of your game. No Player is allowed to play in a league match while playing in the tournament. Any Player found doing so will be disqualified from the tournament immediately!! There will be no exceptions to the above rule as this is also a part of Case's rules for all leaguers. You must either halt your league play at the end of the present game being played when tournament starts and keep scores to the side or withdraw from tournament to continue with league match. GOOD LUCK TOWNIES!
