I will be offering an evening support group
with a focus on Strategies for Eating and Living Mindfully. This
will be an opportunity for sharing, education, support, stress
reduction time to nurture yourself and relaxation.
The
series will be based on the book Eat, Drink
and be Mindful by Susan Albers, but I will be bringing in resources from
other sources. There is a discount in the price if you purchase the
book yourself.
1. Accept your
size.
Love and appreciate the body you have. Self-acceptance
empowers you to move on and make positive changes.
2. Trust yourself.We
all have internal systems designed to keep us healthy—and at a healthy weight.
Support your body in naturally finding its appropriate
weight by honoring its signals of hunger, fullness, and
appetite.
3.
Adopt healthy lifestyle habits.
Develop and nurture
connections with others and look for purpose and meaning in
your life. Fulfilling your social, emotional, and spiritual
needs restores food to its rightful place as a source of
nourishment and pleasure.
4. Embrace size diversity.
Humans come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Open to the beauty found
across the spectrum and support others in recognizing their
unique attractiveness.
This group has been created to assist
women to establish healthy lifestyle choices. It is not based on one
specific method, but rather to incorporate learning's from a variety
of disciplines.
Along with group support, participants will
experience suggestions, relaxation and guided imagery with tools shown to be effective for a healthy lifestyle. Pat
has many resources and connections with others who share this same
vision.
Pat has been involved in
weight release and maintaining a healthy lifestyle for many
years and enjoy working with those who wish to manage their weight
and live a healthy life.
