I miss the 150 yard marker on the golf course....if not a marker, a bush or tree on the side.  This blog is a great idea.

Thanks,   Betty Jamison

I've been hearing good things about the club house and the golf course.  Looking forward to getting back.

I'm curious about the 150 yard markers.  Are they there or not?  Many courses have markers, if not in the center of the fairway, then one on each side at the 100, 150, and 200 distance.  I find them useful.

Jim Lackey- Thanks so much for your informative response about the Winn Dixie property.  I was hoping for  "grocery" type store but i guess the Starbucks will have to do.  Can't wait to see the new clubhouse!

Everyone is reminded that the Eagle Creek Community Association has a website http://www.eaglecreekcommunityassociation.org/  Community Password is same as used by the Club website.

It has useful information such as the names of the representatives for various Homeowner Associations, Officers of the Community Association, and Committee Chairmen, as well as the Property Manager.  E-mail addresses are provided for the various individuals.

The Minutes of Meetings that have been approved by the Board of Directors are also included, as well as the minutes of a meeting with Lowe's on their proposed construction.  (Minutes of the June 26 Board Meeting will be posted after they are approved at the August 28th meeting.)  Financial Statements are also provided.

There is a category entitled REPORT A CONCERN that can also be used to submit Work Order Requests.  This report goes directly into the Property Manager's management system, as well as a copy to the Secretary, to ensure that issues are properly addressed.

There is also a form to submit a request for an approval to make a change condition to your residence to the Architectural Review Board, which is under the category of GOVERNING DOCUMENTS.

If you wish to make any comments about the Community Association website, please let me know.

This is truly a wonderful idea, Dennis.

Hopefully, we'll get rapid responses to any questions that arise.

Creek Chat Blog is a great idea and an effective vehicle for all of us to share the Eagle Creek experience.  We are fairly new to E.C. but we see great things here with even greater potential in coming years.  Looking forward to spending more time "down South" and enjoying all that our beautiful community has to offer.  Thank you Dennis for taking the initiative with this.  Your efforts are much appreciated.

Best regards,  John and Lucy Zozzaro

Glad to see the blog is open again.  Hope it stays up and running.  I think it's a grand idea and thank you for all your work getting it going.    Only one little suggestion, the green background is kinda hard to read.
Lookin forward to being "back south" in Oct.

good idea, not sure we'll use it, we've both been on board positions and committees, my wife is on a ECGC new member committee. Volunteerism isn't easy. But, generally speaking, we've got pretty decent mgmt, etc.

Hello All,

Yesterday after golf, 4 of us were sitting around talking about the chat site which had attracted some messages written in absentia --- none of us could believe that this could occur. Let's hope that this kind of behavior disappears -- we do not need it at all here -- Eagle Creek is a great place and getting better.

Dennis, this is an excellent idea -- I just hope that it works out well for all of us.

For all of you up north, you are in for a great surprise -- the management team here is top notch --- the golf course will be in superb shape, the club house is terrific -- we will have a wine list beyond compare thanks to Tony Redwood's help and every facet of the club have improved greatly since the fall.

Kind regards to all -- Ward Wettlaufer

Sorry to hear that Creek Chat is going to be shut down. We thought this would be a great opportunity to network with other members.

Dennis, you can see from the number of visitors to your site what a success it has been. It's hard to believe people would use another's name to submit a comment and a sad situation if this is so. As the Russo's have said, please reconsider your decision to close down the site; it will be a very useful tool for the community. Thank you for setting it up.

We Sincerely hope that you will reconsider your decision to "close down" this blog as of August 17th. This is such a valuable method of communication that unequivocally supports the "closeness" and interests of the Eagle Creek Community. We thank you for your efforts and look forward to continued signed comments from our neighbors!!

There are comments about the golf course attributed to me on this web site that were submitted August 14 at 1:39:26 pm. These are not my comments. These comments were maliciously submitted by an unknown person for a reason unknown to me. These comments are hurtful to me personally and I resent their implication. This web site has no value if the people making comments can not be verified.

I have just received a call from Dennis Kruger that he or Alan Green did not post anything on this BLOG. Because of one or two individuals who are so afraid to write their own name and choose to cause hurt to a fellow member's that have chosen to work long hours to improve our club and community this blog will shut down on Friday August 17, 2007. I want to thank you all who were honest and forthright in the comments for taking part in this experiment. I hold you all in high regards except for the people that choose to ruin this work. Dennis F. Great idea, but the imposters are going to get innocent people needlessly upset. Jay S. The fees and assessments for the replacement greens will bury your business. We are already known as "Fee City". If everything is so good; maybe now is a good time to get out of DODGE. Can you give us a status of inventory and sales? How bad a hair cut will someone have to take on pricing.

Would the powers that be please enlighten me. When Frank and I moved here thirteen years ago people who bought two lots would build on one and landscape the other and paid fees etc on one. If they decided to sell the second lot or build on it then fees Etc. were charged. If someone buys several units they have to pay. I know people who bought a condo and then decided to upgrade to a home. They believed they could sell the condo soon and be ok But. unable to continue paying the fees etc. they had to put both up for sale. When the condo didn't sell they sold the house and moved back into their condo. If you don't get fees from the lots available our density is less and we are all subsidizing the owners. Many of you knew my husband Frank. He worked very hard for Eagle Creek and would be very disturbed to hear about this situation. We are all waiting for the next assessment and it seems very unfair to me. Tell me if I am wrong.

Dennis you get a huge "atta boy!" for this. Great job. Chris and I have been here at Eagle Creek now for 15 years and I have played the course since it opened back around 1984. The course is the best I have ever seen it now and our new Superintendent Jim, is very detail oriented. Should do nothing but get even better! The clubhouse is spectacular. All of you coming back in the fall having something great to look forward to. They say good things are worth waiting for and that fits the clubhouse nicely. We have the best management team ever and combine that with our course and clubhouse and we truly have the best kept secret in Naples. Let's not keep it a secret anymore!!s of our new home on this website. It is every bit as fabulous as the new clubhouse, and we feel the members would enjoy seeing it, in as much as they made it possible. See you at the Club!

Following is a copy of an email we received: Hello all: Kyle (our old assistant) called here this am to tell us that Chris Mathieu's died this morning of a heart attack on the golf course in Florida. He asked me to inform everyone that I could think of. Sorry to be a bearer of bad news. A lot of Eagle Creekers were very fond of him.

Barbara Campasano, Kite Realty is doing a $2.2 million renovation of the Shops at Eagle Creek, which includes converting the 50,000 Sq Ft that Winn-Dixie used to occupy into two separate 25,000 Sq Ft spaces. Staples will occupy one of the 25,000 Sq Ft spaces, and they were originally scheduled to move in August. However, there were delays in getting some follow on building permits, so the work has been delayed several months. Fresh Market was to occupy the remaining 25,000 Sq Ft space, but according to Kite Realty that will not happen because Fresh Market has changed its mind. Kite Realty has applied for a permit for a seperate building to be build for a drive through Starbucks. It is to be located between Wachovia Bank and the entrance to the shopping center from US 41.

MEMBERSHIP ISSUES Out of disasters, grow opportunities. The developer of Copper Cove has stopped any further development, and WCI is near being bankrupt or at the very least will curtain development of Hammock Bay and Artesia (Moody a few days ago down graded WCI bonds to junk, and Wci has been looking for buyers and not finding amyone interested in buying the company). The Boomers are still growing older and moving into retirement. Eagle Creek offers a stable, fully developed community that is member owned & managed, and the size of the community is one that most people desire. The Club has relied on advertising from time to time for new members, whereas, I feel they should be more pro-active. For example, there could be a "Verona Walk Day" where members of that community would be invited to visit the new clubhouse and play a round of golf. Also I think mentors should be assigned to anyone who expresses an interest in joining the club. The mentor would invite this person and spouse to dine with him & his wife at the club, play a round of golf with him, and followup on seeking to have him/her join.

Bill Gutzwiller, in response to your question, the Google Earth imagines are old imagines, not current ones, which were taken when our golf course was under renovations approximately two years ago.

Great idea neighbor! I hope that people do not limit their comments only about the Club, but also include issues about the Community Association and the Neighborhood Associations, .i.e, Condos #1 through 5, including Stonegate and Waterford, Villas and Estate Homes. The Community Association will hold their regular Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday August 28 at 9 am in the Cypress Room, and everyone is invited to attend to learn about the progress on improving the front entrance, status of the Lowe's project, etc. Also everyone is encouraged to visit the Community Association web site http://www.eaglecreekcommunityassociation.org/ Community Password is same as used by the Club web site. Lots of good information on the web site including a category called REPORT A CONCERN where you can send your comments or requests for work order items directly to the Property Manager Ann Berger for her action, Minutes of Board Meetings, etc. Thanks Dennis for making this site possible.

Yesterday I looked at the aerial view of Eagle Creek on Google Earth from up here in Milwaukee. All the fairways and the practice range look as if they're torn up and the color of brown dirt. I wonder if that's the way they really look on site, or is that a photo from space some time ago. Can anyone actually there at EC tell me what those fairways actually look like right now? Hopefully they'll be green before long.
