ASIS&T IA Summit 2004 Panel Presentation: Taxonomies, Controlled Vocabularies, and Ontologies - In Feb. 2004 I moderated a panel of experts (Amy Warner, Katherine Bertolucci, and Kathryn Lewellen) speaking on emerging issues involving controlled vocabularies within information architecture.

ASIS&T IA Summit 2003 Panel Presentation: Making Connections with Techies - In March 2003 I facilitated a discussion of common issues and questions IA's face when working with techies. The group included five seasoned information architects and one IA-friendly programmer who shared their war stories, successes, tips and tricks for making connections with technical types to build sites. The participants included Kristen Truong (Covisint), Margaret Hanley (BBC), Jodi Bollaert(Compuware), and Dennis Schleicher (J. Walter Thompson).

ASIS&T IA Summit 2002 Presentation: On March 16th, 2002 I spoke at the ASIS&T Information Architecture Summit. My presentation was a case study about a project I did while at Argus for Egreetings to re-architect the site's user interface and controlled vocabularies. Outcomes included recommendations and designs to improve the main taxonomy, navigation, search and checkout process. This presentation focused on the importance of user research and testing during the analysis and design.

CLA 2001 Presentation:On June 15th, 2001 I spoke at the Canadian Library Association's Annual Conference in Winnipeg on the topic "IA Best Practices for Intranets."
