My Top Picks
- CricInfo- Calls itself
"the home of cricket on the Internet," and it still is the most comprehensive cricket website out there,
with up-to-the-minute news releases, interesting articles, extensive databases, live scorecards for all
matches of any significance, and even live audio coverage of some matches (they now carry the BBC's
"Test Match Special" for some games). The site was recently acquired by Wisden, whose
content is gradually being merged in as the pages are redesigned. Here's hoping the new entity really is a
"best of both"...
- The Cricketer Magazine-
Actually, the Cricketer Magazine is no more (another Wisden acquisition, it's also been merged with
one of their publications and renamed). However, someone forgot to take down these webpages, so
I'm leaving up this link "for old times' sake."
- The
Victor Trumper Cricket Board- My favorite cricket forum. Powered by EZBoard, it boasts a
disproportionate number of literate and thoughtful posters for an Internet bulletin board. There's even a
community feel among the regular participants. You've got to join to post, but it's pretty painless (and
free). I sometimes post as "gowerfan."
- Cricket Opinion-
My good friend Neil Bostock's interesting cricket weblog.

Other News/Features Sites
- Cricket365.com
(formerly "Cricketline")- This UK site bills itself as "the world's ultimate cricket resource."
While I wouldn't go that far, I'll say it's pretty good. For a laugh, check out the
"Lookalikes."
- iCricketer.com-
Headlines, live coverage, stats, etc. A South African site.
- ThatsCricket-
Headlines, live coverage, commentary, etc. An affiliate of www.indiainfo.com.
- CricketWorld.com-
Another "headlines, etc." site. This one's the online presence of UK print magazine Cricket
World.
- Rick Eyre's Cricket
Pages- Headlines, polls, a forum, and more from the CricInfo cricket writer.
- CricketWoman.com-
Headlines, polls, a forum, etc., all devoted to the women's game. From Rick Eyre and Diane van Dulken.
- PricewaterhouseCoopers
Cricket Ratings- Straight from the source and always up to date.
- "I Don't LIKE
Cricket...- ...I LOVE it!" Book reviews from the self-styled "Cricket Book Review
Specialists."

History, Lore, Players, Etc.

Humor, Games
- The
Lighter Side- Some fun cricket trivia, courtesy of MagicCricket.com.
- The Pitch-
UK sports humor e-zine with plenty of cricket pieces. "Onion"-esque, i.e. not always for
the faint of heart.
- The Middle Stump-
Cricket humor e-zine, not as wicked as "The Pitch.".
- CricketJokes.com-
Cricket humor in a dozen different categories; part of the "HumorHub" network.
- Cricket
Jokes- This is Page One of user-submitted cricket humor at CricInfo. And here are links to Pages
Two,
Three,
Four,
and Five.
- Just
Not Cricket- A funny Flash(TM) game with a distant resemblance to the noble game.

Cricket Clubs
- Maryland Cricket Club- This
would, I suppose, qualify as my local cricket club, as its home field is only about 20 miles from me. I saw them play a few times
in 2000, and hope to visit again.

Marketplace
(My links to cricket book sellers are on their
own page.)
- The
Cricket Stamp Collection- Like the name implies, this site offers cricket stamps for the
collector. The proprietor, "Stampsoz," also trades on
eBay.
- CricketVideo.com-
Many cricket audio and video tapes, plus DVDs, for sale. Even if you don't want to buy anything, though,
visit the site to hear the
classic audio
clips.
- Cricket Lore Magazine-
Learn how to subscribe to the much-praised "limited edition" cricket history journal.
- Universal Sports-
US cricketers can buy cricket equipment from this Georgia business.
- The Scrap
Pile- There's not much here (it's an American site), but I found a few cricket cards for my
collection at the very bottom of the page, under "Miscellaneous."
