On Wednesday it began to rain in the morning as we started the White House tour, and then just poured all day. We did the Washington Monument, and then went to the Natural History Museum to dry off. We saw a great exhibit of the best wildlife photos --- check out the monkee and their kid!
Thursday we did the family traditional Thanksgiving and loved it. It drizzled all day, but people still walked and rode bikes.
Friday broke clear and beautiful, a mediocre New Mexico day in the District. We got tickets to the 3D IMAX movie and then did the Holocaust Museum and then back to Air and Space for the movie and then everyone did a mad dash to check out some other places. We played "Apples to Apples" in the evening and everyond loved the game.
Saturday was also gorgeous. We went to Foggy Bottom, walked down past the Kennedy Center and on to the Lincoln Memorial. (You'll have to ask me in person about my running down the Rock Creek Parkway pushing Bill at high speed.)

It was sobering to do all the war memorials -- Dad and I saw the Korean one, we all walked along the Vietnam war memorial and saw the statues nearby, and then we went down to the World War II memorial which Dad had never seen, and we found the pillar for Idaho.
Then we bailed on the sightseeing and took the subway back up to Foggy Bottom and walked the opposite way into Georgetown for lunch, shopping, and Thomas Sweet Ice Cream (the blend-ins were too big but wonderful). Then we went to "Asian Nora" for a wonderful organic Asian fusion meal to top off the weekend.
