Critter Haven is a small rabbitry that is
concentrating mainly on breeding Double Mane Lionheads. Our
breeding goal is for lionheads with exceptional manes, nice small
ears and most of all great body type. We have invested in great
bloodlines that we hope will help us achieve these goals. We
are working hard for this breed and hope to produce a line that is
worthy of this hard work, and with the outcome so far, we are pleased
to say, we think they are worthy. We are proud of the lions
we are currently producing. We hope that you will find our lions
just as pleasing.
We do suggest doing your homework before getting
any rabbit. Lionheads require regular grooming and if you are
going to show your rabbit do the extra homework and know what to look
for in your rabbit before buying. If you are buying from a reputable
breeder they don't mind answering your questions and more likely will
welcome your questions and excitement for the breed and want to help
you along.
We have just recently started breeding
and showing American Fuzzy Lops. Rosemarie fell in love with
this floppy earred fuzzy and I seemed to follow. So now we are
starting our breeding and showing program with a start from Dawn Guth who
owns BASTET'S BUNNIES. We are looking forward to this new addition
to our barn and our first litters. Thanks so much Dawn for the
great start in this program.
I have always loved big dogs and big horses so it made sense
when I fell hard for those lovable Flemish Giant Rabbits.
They
act like little puppies - they follow you around, play with your shoes,
chase you, chase and play with your cat and dogs in the house and
very neatly use the litter box - WOW - Giant House Bunnies.
I originally got one to show and to use for education, but got hooked.
Now we breed them for show and pets.
I was lucky enough to find
and make some great new friends with Winning Flemish Breeders Juan
Perez who owns Iberia Rabbit Farm and Calixto Arocho who ownsArocho Rabbitry. They were both willing to help me with
the breed and I got great stock from them. They both have given
me some great info and encouragement. Please visit their sites
or farms and see their award winning rabbits.
Currently we are
breeding Light Grays, Steels and Fawns, but occasionally will have
a white or black thrown into the mix.
So if you're looking for
a Giant Bunny we have some beauties you may want to check out.
