Zachary leads Dover, Delaware girls to win Staff report DOWNSTATE - Pabnesia Zachary netted a season-high 32 points to lead Dover High to a 60-45 win over Lake Forest in Henlopen Conference girls' basketball Tuesday night. Toia Sudler added eight points for the Senators. Shaquanna Cannon scored 11 points while Kate Neeman added 10 points to lead Lake Forest.
Caesar Rodney 56, Smyrna 39: Caesar Rodney broke open a close game in the fourth quarter to notch the win. The Riders were leading only 37-30 before outscoring the Eagles 19-9 in the final period. Nakia Anderson scored 12 points while Rae Everson and Jaime Brittingham added 10 apiece to lead CR. Smyrna got a team-high 12 points from Cheri Bryant.
Indian River 56, Cape Henlopen 52: Senior Sierra Garrison netted 22 points, including four three-pointers, as the Indians edged Cape. With IR holding a 52-51 lead, Alex Morris hit one free throw and Garrison sank two in the final 20 seconds. Ashley Taylor added 15 points for the Indians, who had led 35-25 at halftime. Leading Cape was Andrea Carey (13 points), Bethany Pavlik (12)
Sussex Tech 77, Laurel 26: Toni Jones scored a game-high 16 points to power Sussex Tech. Four Ravens scored in double figures: Brittany Adkins tossed in 13 points, Jaime Townsend added 11 while Anika Jones finished with 10. Sussex Tech went on a 21-0 run to end the first quarter. Sierra Bolden hit three three-point baskets to lead Laurel with nine points while Lenona Stancell scored eight.
Seaford 63, Milford 26: Roniece Williams scored 16 points while Ebony Keaton added 13 to pace Seaford to the win over Milford. Tiffany Sivels scored a career-high 10 points while DeNeatra Barkley added seven to lead Milford.
Sussex Central 58, Delmar 49: Candice Shockley scored a game-high 15 points while Sarah Warren scored 12 to lead Sussex Central. Kanesha Gibbs added 14 points for the Golden Knights (4-7, 4-4). Serina Thomas scored 14 points to lead Delmar.
Epworth Christian 43, Salisbury Christian 12: Charmaine Reid poured in 18 points and pulled down seven rebounds to power Epworth Christian. Heather Dukes added eight points while Megan Street tossed in six for Epworth Christian. Rachel Downes led Salisbury Christian with seven points. |
