Dover, Delaware girls blast Woodbridge

DOWNSTATE - Eight Senators scored six points or more as Dover High's girls' basketball team stretched its winning streak to seven straight games with an 83-14 win over Woodbridge in Henlopen Conference action Tuesday night.

The Senators jumped out to a 23-1 lead after the first quarter and led 47-6 at halftime.

Casha Heath and Jaquay Smith each scored nine points to lead Dover while Domonique Barrett and Lakeisha Hurst chipped in eight points for the Senators (7-5 in conference, 8-5 overall).

Rayna Horsey and Tiandra Felix each scored five points to lead the Raiders (0-11).

 

Delmar 51, Cape Henlopen 44: Serina Thomas netted 16 points while Jen Hastings added nine points to lift Delmar over Cape Henlopen. Delmar held Cape Henlopen to just one third quarter point to cruise to the win.

Lisa Williams scored a season high 18 points while Andrea Carey added 10 points to lead Cape Henlopen.

 

Caesar Rodney 56, Milford 30: Jaimie Brittingham and Erin Schoenwolf each scored 14 points to power Caesar Rodney over Milford.

Tiffany Sivels scored a season high 12 points to lead Milford.

 

Lake Forest 47, Sussex Central 35: Shequanna Cannon poured in 25 points to lead the Spartans to their second win in as many days. Keekee Henderson added 10 points as Lake built a 41-24 lead after three quarters.

Candice Shockley scored 10 points to lead the Golden Knights.

 

Polytech 51, Laurel 26: Tyresa Smith led the Panthers with 18 points while Nikki Hayes chipped in 14 in the victory. Polytech broke open a close game by outscoring the Bulldogs 22-6 in the third quarter.

Lenona Stancell scored a team-high 17 points for Laurel.

 

Sussex Tech 69, Smyrna 30: Brittany Atkins scored 24 points and Toni Jones scored 22 to lead the Ravens.

Sussex Tech used a 22-6 second quarter to pull away for the win.

Sherri Bryant led the Eagles with 12 points.

 

Seaford 82, Indian River 30: Ashlee Burbage scored a game-high 22 points to power Seaford to the win. Ebony Keaton added 14 points while Roniece Williams tossed in 13 for Seaford.

Ravin Robinson scored 14 points to pace Indian River.
