Padua Academy 59, Caesar Rodney 54

 

WILMINGTON-Charnee Foston scored 12 of her 17 points from the free throw line as host Padua Academy turned back Caesar Rodney High 59-54 in a nonconference girls basketball game last Saturday.
 

The Pandas sprinted to a 29-16 halftime lead and then held off the Riders in the fourth quarter. Maureen Faulkner won her coaching debut for Padua, following John Armstrong, who stepped down in April from the position after eight seasons.
 

Dominique Murray added 13 points and Shannon Elliott scored 11 for Padua (1-0).
