Our next port of call was Nawiliwili, Kauai, Hawaii. The Garden Isle of Kauai is the tropical paradise known for towering ocean cliffs, waterfalls, and beautiful beaches.

Waimea Canyon Several shore excursions included a stop at the Waimea Canyon which is known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. The canyon measures ten miles long, one mile wide, and more than 3,500-feet deep. It was carved thousands of years ago by rivers and floods that flowed from Mount Waialeale's summit. We decided to book the four hour tour to Waimea Canyon.

Another tour that sounded interesting was the Huleia River Kayak and Hiking Adventure . This 2.5 hour kayaking and hiking excursion down the Huleia River sounded like an ideal way to complete our day in Kauai. We had booked this tour ahead of time, but the times of the Waimea Canyon tour got changed and we were only able to take one tour. So, we had to cancel this tour.

There were other tours that interested us but didn't fit in our schedule. The Safari Adventure Tour was a full day tour. There was a longer full day tour to Waimea Canyon and Wailua River that we passed up when making our reservations so that we could do the kayaking. It is unforturnate that the tour times got changed so that we could only do one of our tour choices.

Kauai at Sunset Since we only had one tour, we had plenty of time to shop. After we got done shopping, it was time for that dreaded task - packing to leave the ship. At least this time it wasn't to go home since we still had two more nights in Hawaii.

I love sunsets and was a little disappointed most evenings. The sunsets were very brief and usually didn't have much cloud cover to really make for the spectacular sunsets of other cruises. It was fitting that we had a beautiful sunset this final evening at sea. It made for a wonderful conclusion of this part of our trip.

I've included information on shopping and dining for planning purposes. If you want to see live pictures from the ports we visited in Hawaii, check out these webcams .

Our final stop was Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii. Even though the cruise was over, we weren't quite done with our Hawaiian vacation. Continue with Honolulu or choose a page from the drop down list above. Don't forget to check out the Kauai Photo Album for more tour pictures.
