Tahitian Princess - Rarotonga

Our next port of call was Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. While doing research for this cruise, I came across Raratonga Encountered which is one journalist's account of a visit to the Cook Islands, complete with useful resource links. Start with this article or any of the links below to learn more about this lovely island paradise.

Rarotonga Palm Tree There is plenty to do in Cook Islands. We booked one shore excursion, Muri Lagoon Cruise & Lunch, 12:00 - 4:00 pm, which included a cruise aboard a glassbottom boat and a barbecue lunch on a Motu. The day was overcast, so the snorkeling wasn't very good. The lunch made up for it, however. We had grilled swordfish, fried bananas, potato salad, cole slaw, bread, and fresh fruits. The official Captain Tama's Lagoon Cruizes webiste also has a discount coupon if you want to do this tour on your own.

There are other shore excursions offered through the cruise line, but we wanted to do some exploring on our own.
