Winter Soups 'n Sides

Chef / author Cathy Walthers presents soup and sides—lots of veggies, protein and great nutrition. It’s comfort food with a healthy twist! We’ll pair hearty soups with salad, sandwich, or other sides like black bean soup and veggie quesadillas.

Chris Brown, nutritionist / proprietor of the Natural Choice, shows how to create a flavorful and balanced meal when you’re short on time. Recipes include Pasta with Garbanzo and Artichoke Hearts, Quinoa and Corn Salad with Basil and Walnuts, Tabbouleh Primavera with Cashews.

Raising the Bar

Cathy Walthers presents samples from her new book, Raising the Bar. We’ll try leafy, whole grain and pasta salads with exciting new dressings. These updated salads are inspired by the increasing availability of new local ingredients and ethnic influences.

Preserve and Keep it Local

Deborah Coleman leads a hands-on class in canning bread ‘n butter pickles and pickled beets...great to pull off the shelves in December! We’ll experiment with freezing and blanching the summer harvest. Good eating for months to come!

Autumn Feast
