WEDNESDAY READINGS
"Truth Frees from Bondage"

The American Declaration of Independence includes that loved and cherished statement: "Man is endowed by his Maker with certain inalienable rights, among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

Recent events in Iran indicate that this statement is far from being accepted universally. Jesus brought out the fact that it is knowing of the truth that ultimately makes us free from all forms of bondage. The most oppressive untruth is that we are governed by the flesh, by a material body, and destined to experience sin, disease, and death.

But in Chapter 8 of Romans we read: "...the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."

The readings will focus on our God-given rights to dominion over materiality and its tyrannical manifestations expressed politically, socially, and physically.
