Interface Design & Testing

As an advocate for the user, I am adept at identifying weak areas and potential problems in the interface, and communicating those issues to management and engineering. I have worked closely with engineering and QA and alongside user-interface designers to help make the best product possible and to improve the user's experience through a simple and logical interface coupled with clear and concise documentation.

My involvement in interface design has ranged from providing suggestions as I use the product to being the lead interface designer. I have worked on Web sites and software applications to provide:

  • Consistency in nomenclature and design.
  • Interface style guides and best practices.
  • Process flows and site maps.
  • Issue identification and tracking.
  • Quality assurance testing.

Online Corporate Store Redesign: As the lead user-interface designer, I worked with a team of executives and other stakeholders to update the existing storefront on the corporate web site. I developed wireframes and documented the new functionality for engineering, and worked with a contract designer to create the necessary graphics to match the existing site branding.

Product Registration Redesign: As the lead user-interface designer, I worked with a team of executives and other stakeholders on a project to simplify the user interface of the product registration process and migrate the functionality to current technologies. As part of the wireframe- and requirements-development process, I documented the new process flow to aid the developers.
