1988 Honda CR-500R
I bought this bike from a guy up in Everett back in about 1989. It was a sweet bike. One of those classics that you really regret getting rid of. I had it for about three years, but seldom rode it, as it was out at my parents farm in Gig Harbor, and I was living in Bellevue. I rode it occasionally when I went out there for weekends. Note the totally trick ridding gear above: Old Marine Corps cammie blouse, neon spray-painted (visor-less) Bell Moto III, Khaki dockers, and Adidas Superstar tennis shoes. Where safety and style fly apart in completely different directions...

I raced it once up at Jolly Rogers raceway in Kent and finished 3rd in the first moto, and crashed HARD in the 2nd and DNF'd. My hands lost there ability to grip, and I lost it off a double. I went one way, and the bike went another. I got the wind knocked out of me, and realized I wasn't 18 anymore...I hung up racing, and figured I was just too old and out of shape to ever race again.
I ended up trading it to a friend for a Suzuki DR-370, which I convinced myself I needed as a commuter vehicle while working in Seattle. Dumb.
