1990 Honda CR500R: Fit me like a HAND IN A GLOVE...

I bought this bike for $1500 from a guy in Yakima who was the third owner. He had had it for three months, and hadn't ridden it but up and down the alley behind his house. He had bought it from his boss, who had had it in his garage for ten years, and had ridden it about 10 times. HE had bought it from an old guy who had used it to hill climb.

That's the story I got. Who knows what the truth is. But when I got this bike, it was almost new. Look at the photo above. Other than some boot wear on the frame, it was pristine.

I had this bike for about a year and a half, and put more wear on it in that time than it had seen in the 16 previous years combined. And I was meticulously maintaining it! It just needed a rider.

God it was a great bike. I am still suffering withdrawels.

I will buy another CR500. It's just a matter of time.

Maybe it will be an aluminum framed Service Honda CR500AF? Who knows?

I ended up selling this bike for $2400 with a bunch of spar parts I had acrued.

For what it's worth, the stock pipe wailed over the FMF Gnarly I had put on. The Gnarly mellowed the "Hit" too much for my tastes.
