Another great recipe


Basic Icing
Boil these ingredients:
  • 2 and 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
*Boil until the mixture can spin out a long thread.
*Beat 2 egg whites until you can turn a bowl upside down (without egg whites falling out, of course, silly)--that is, until fairly stiff. Continue beating whilst adding the boiled syrup mixture. Now you want the stiffness to hold a shape in points or peaks.
*Lastly, add 1 teaspoon vanilla.

* This is a basic icing recipe to which you can add any flavoring you like or use as is: your basic white icing.
