Chocolate Fudge Frosting |
| For a layer cake
* Melt 3 or 4 squares of baking chocolate and 3 tablespoons of butter over hot water (in a double boiler, if you have one). Measure 3 cups of sifted confectioner's sugar, 1/8 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla and add this measured mixture to the chocolate one. * Let stand for a few minutes in order to achieve the right consistency for icing the cooled cake. Frost the first layer, place the second layer on top and continue covering the cake with this chocolate icing. * As a final touch, sprinkle some shredded coconut on top, if desired. |
