Hazel's Chocolate Fudge Cake

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups cake flour, sifted
1/3 cup butter
2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
2 squares baking chocolate
1 cup sour milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation:
    Cream the butter and the sugar. Add egg yolks, vanilla, and melted chocolate and butter. Sift the dry ingredients and add alternately with the milk. Fold in beaten egg whites before baking in two layer pans in a pre-heated 350° oven for 20 minutes. Cool before icing.
Chocolate Fudge Frosting
Ingredients:
2 squares bitter chocolate
1 tablespoon butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup milk
1 cup confectioners' sugar
Preparation:
    Melt the chocolate and butter together. Beat the egg in a bowl and add the sugar, milk, and vanilla. Combine the two mixtures. Set bowl in a pan of cold water and beat until the mixture is stiff enough to ice the cake.
