Holiday Milk Punch

Ingredients:
  • 1 qt. whole milk
  • 1/4 c. powdered sugar or granulated light brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. bourbon, rye whisky, brandy, or dark rum
  • ground nutmeg as topping
  • whipped cream as topping (optional)

Preparation:
    Stir the ingredients well before serving. Top with the nutmeg and add whipped cream if desired. You can heat the milk before slowly mixing in the other ingredients. Serve warm for cold evenings.
    Non-alcoholic versions:   Add 2 tsp. vanilla or 2 tbsp. maple syrup or 3/4 c. of strong coffee instead of the liquor. Also, rum or brandy flavorings may be available in your supermarket (check labels for alcoholic content).
    Another variation: Add a stick of cinnamon instead of the nutmeg for each serving.
