Judy's Golden Bubble Ring | |
Combine 2 1/2 c. flour with the yeast. Heat the milk, and add the sugar, shortening, and salt. Add to dry mixture. Add eggs. Beat at low speed (electric mixer) for about 30 seconds. Beat 3 minutes at high speed. By hand, stir in enough flour to make a soft dough. Knead on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic (takes about 8 to 10 minutes). Shape into a ball and allow to rise until double in size. Place into a ring baking pan and bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes. Allow to cool for 15 to 20 minutes. Drizzle a mix of the butter, sugar and cinnamon on top of the cooling ring. Makes a great coffee cake! |
