Another great recipe



Lemon Cream Cheese Squares

Ingredients:
  • 2/3 cup margarine or butter
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup nuts, chopped
  • 2 pkgs. cream cheese ( 8-oz. each)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 tbsp. milk
  • 2 tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation:

    Cream together the brown sugar and margarine or butter. Then add the flour and nuts. Beat until crumbly. Reserve 2 cups of this crust-like mixture. Press the remaining amount into a greased 9 by 13 pan. Bake for 15 minutes in a 350° oven.
    Nex, mix the cream cheese and sugar. Beat in the remaining ingredients until smooth. Pour over the baked crust. Sprinkle with the reserved crumb-crust mixture. Bake the whole thing for 25 minutes more. Cool slightly before cutting. Keep uneaten cookies in the refrigerator. Little sandwich cookies!
