Another great recipe


Vagabond Pie

  • 1 1/2 cup boiled and mashed sweet potatoes (or pumpkin; canned okay)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup sugar (or more if preferred very sweet)
  • dash salt
  • dash nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp. butter, softened or melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp. rum

      Combine the ingredients in the order given. Bake in an unbaked pie-crust shell or a graham cracker pie-crust shell. Bake in a hot oven (450°, pre-heated) until lightly brown (about a half hour, but test with a toothpick before removing from heat). Enough for one 9-inch pie.
