Teacup and saucer set
| Lovely gold-rimmed teacup and saucer from the North Staffordshire porcelain factory of the Plant brothers, known as the Tuscan Works. The hallmark on the bottom of the cup and of the saucer reads "PLANT" followed by "TUSCAN CHINA" followed by a crown and wings insignia or logo, followed by the words "MADE IN ENGLAND." The date is about 1920 for this set. The pattern, noted in gold ink or paint on the bottom of the saucer, is number 7611. Pale green is the base of the border pattern which features blue, orange, and pink flowers with golden leaves. The china base color is, of course, white and the saucer rim, cup rim and cup bottom and handle show gold-colored trim. This beautiful pair would enhance any tea service or coffee setup. The saucer is about 5 1/2-in. in diameter, while the cup is about 2 3/4-in high. The weight of this set is about 8 ouces (without liquid). Simply gorgeous! |
