Small and Pretty Whatnot Dish, with Flower Design
| Small rectangular dish with flower design and gold-hued trim on rim and other details, with flowers in vignette in center, and all on a white ground. The central flowers include an orange tulip, a rose-colored rose, some greenery, and other small blue, purple, and yellow posies. Variations on these flowers decorate the edge which dips outward at each corner and undulates slightly in between corners. Sizing: about 4 1/4-inches long by 3 1/4-inches wide by about 3/4-inch deep. Marking on underside: hallmark crown insignia featuring a lion on a shield and "72" in green; other wording is "Schumann" followed by "GERMANY" followed by "Dresden Flowers." A very pretty what-not dish for collectors; an engaging accessory for a variety of decorative purposes. Estimated age: fifty to eighty years. In fine condition. ♥ |
