Pointillism is a technique with mesmerizing qualities for the artist and fascination for the viewer as well. Little dots of color, which up close are rather abstract and even random, coalesce at a distance to recognizable shapes and features. It is not a mechanical process, this painting effort, but it is slow.
Realizing the final image often involves passing through a half-way point that resembles a snowstorm and then, later, you reach a clear-sky resolution with the selection of finishing colors. The paintings are welcoming and steady, when complete.
