Leavenworth
Historical crags and bolt-tamed buttresses. Scattered granite craglets of various sizes. Multipitch and single pitch areas, many big enough to keep you busy all day. About 2.5 hours +/- 15 minutes depending on the crag. Approaches vary; 3-90 minutes. East side of the crest, so has more dependable weather than the West. Directions: From the Space Needle, take Mercer Way to I5 North (not the express lanes), 520 East, 405 North, 522 East to Monroe, hwy 2 east. Castle Rock is on the north side of the road about 2.5 miles from the east entrance of Tumwater canyon (if you get to Leavenworth ,then you've gone too far.) For the Icicle Creek climbs take the first right onto Icicle Road (at the Heidleburger on left and miniature golf course on right). Drive south on the main road which will eventually curve right into the Icicle Creek valley. The Snow Creek Trail parking lot is on the left at about 4.2 miles from mini-golf. Icicle Buttress (kenison) spills onto the road from the right at around 6.4 miles. Recommended:
