There
are moments. And then there are Moments.
When I think back over time, one way I see it is as a procession of small-m moments, each a kind of benchmark. When these moments are considered together they form a framework for memory. Stepping stones for histories. They can also create a kind of illusion of motion. There is also another kind of moment. These are the capital-m Moments that don't so much take place at a point in time, but somewhere, somehow else. These form the content of my experience. Sometimes these two kinds of moments coincide. But not necessarily. |
