The hostel and guest house provides safe, comfortable, clean, and affordable overnight accommodations to travelers from all over the world. Open daily from April 15 to October 15. Open by reservation October 16 to April 14 - some short closures during the winter months.

Located on eight acres one and one-half miles from downtown Elma, this country-style guest house and home hostel has a men's and a women's dorm, one private room, two common rooms, a self-service kitchen, showers, library, bicycle and baggage storage areas, and an 18 hole disc golf course. Bed linens, blankets, and pillows are provided. Towels are available at no extra charge. Guests who do not want to prepare their meals at the hostel will find several restaurants ranging from fast food to fine dining close by.

Plenty of free parking is available, along with limited telephone and internet access. Evening activities depend on what our visitors would like to do. Guests can relax in one of the common rooms or sit outside and enjoy the country sights and sounds. Those who are tired of sitting during a day of travel and who want to stretch their muscles while having some fun can play a round or two of disc golf on the course at the hostel. Travelers who want to sightsee in the area after their arrival can attend one of the local activities over at the Grays Harbor Fairgrounds, take a stroll around Vance Creek Park, check out the historic mural in downtown Elma, or take a drive over to Montesano, the county seat of Grays Harbor.

The guest house is conveniently located just off Highway 8 and Fairgrounds Road, one mile east of Elma, Washington. From Highway 8, turn onto Fairgrounds Road, go 1/4 block up the hill and turn right onto Ginny Lane. The guest house is the first house on Ginny Lane at the south end of the fairgrounds. If coming from the Elma-McCleary Road or the fairgrounds, turn south onto Fairgrounds Road. Follow the road past the racetrack and then turn left onto Ginny Lane at the end of the racetrack pit area.

No matter what the season, there is always plenty to do in Grays Harbor. Many guests use the hostel as a base for day trips to points of interest in all directions. Springtime brings kite flying weather out on the coast, along with whale watching. Grays Harbor County has lots of roads for cycling, including plenty of loop rides through the countryside. Wilderness roads and trails in Capitol Forest, about ten miles south of the hostel, are open for those who enjoy off-road motorcycle riding. About ten miles from the hostel is an ORV park on the Thurston-Grays Harbor County line that is open seasonally. Fishing, swimming, surfing, boating, and other water sports opportunities abound in the county.

Summer is the season to hike in the Olympic National Park and enjoy the sights, which are especially beautiful on those rare sunny summer days in the rain forest. Day trips can be planned to:

Fall is particularly nice in Grays Harbor with many many warm sunny days and cool nights that bring out fall colors once the temperatures start dropping. Area parks, museums, and other local attractions are often still open and available.
