Guest Virginia Thomas; Division 3 Key Club Lt. Governor was introduced. Virginia provided an excellent report on the extensive activities of Key Club. There are eleven chartered Key Clubs in Division with two more awaiting their charters. Virginia requested that each Kiwanis Club in Division 3 make a priority of enhancing the ties between their club and their local Key Club. (This is an excellent way to do makeup meetings.)
Tom Morgan reported on the status of the Circle K clubs.
Minutes of the previous meeting were adopted as posted on the Kiwanis web page.
Lt. Governor Ben Fuller’s appointment of Paul Downing as Division 3 Secretary-Treasure was ratified.

Division 3 Goals for 2001-2002
To show a 3% NET gain in membership division wide…and to personally bring in one new member, Encourage clubs to plan at least two major membership drives during their year.
To encourage all clubs to make annual contributions to Florida and International, Foundations ($3/mbr and $100 to $350 depending on size).
To maximize communications through the use of monthly bulletins, email, and the division website (www.kiwanis.org/divison/3).
To support the establishment of at least one Key Club, Builders Club, or K-Kids. Continue to be proactive in support of current Sponsored Programs (2 Circle K’s, 13 Key Clubs, and 1 aKtion Club).
To insure each club submit dues and reports on time and in the proper amount. To push District office to get online reporting operational as soon as possible.
To recommend that clubs consider financially supporting one of six planned “transitional rooms” or “nesting rooms” in the new newborn intensive care ward to open in 2003.
To continue support the Ralph Davis Kiwanis Scholarship House at FSU with minor maintenance, periodic donations of expendable supplies, land yard cleanups as needed.
The Primary Young Children: Priority 1 Project for this year is the opportunity to sponsor one or more of the six transitional (nesting) rooms that will be added to the new Tallahassee Memorial Hospital ER, Children’s and Women’s wing during the next two years. Each room sponsorship will cost between $3000 and $3500. Each Club would sponsor a room over the two-year period. The TMH contact person is Sherri Wisham, Newborn Intensive Care Unit, Phone 431-5916

The initial reports to the Division 3 Lt. Governor are due from each club by November 10. Call Ben Fuller if you are unclear or have questions regarding reporting details. Each Club provided a brief report regarding their activities in progress at this time. Wow! do our Clubs do a lot of good public and youth services stuff or what? Bob Bull provided a status report on the Aktion Club. Financial assistance is needed for providing lodging and transportation to state meetings. The Annual Civic Club luncheon is Thursday, November 1st at the Leon County Fairgrounds. All Kiwanians are encouraged to attend.
