Lt. Governor Jim Wylie called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 3705 N. Monroe St., Tallahassee, Florida.
Present: Representatives of Capital City, Lake Jackson, Madison, Tallahassee, Tallahassee Killearn and Tallahassee Northside Clubs.
Visitors: Ed Lillich, Candidate for District Treasurer, and his wife Chris.
The pledge to the flag was led by Harry Hooper and the prayer was
by George Willis.
Minutes - The April 12, 2004 Division 3 Council Meeting Minutes were unanimously approved after being moved by Don May and seconded by Paul Burris.
Financial Report - A financial report was distributed showing a Checking Account Balance of $1123.67 and Savings Account Balance $1302.95. There have been no expenditures. Two clubs have not still paid division dues.
Foundation – Earl Cushing asked that clubs which have not made their Birthday contribution/gift to do so by the end of September.
International Convention Report – Three clubs from Division 3 were represented at the International Convention in June. Kiwanis News with results of amendments, resolutions and election of officers was distributed.
Florida District Convention – The Florida District Convention will be held in Jacksonville, August 25 – August 29, 2004.
Diaper Drop Project – The project is still 17,000 short of meeting
the 300,000 goal. Cash and checks are welcome. Goal should
be met by end of summer.
Ralph Davis Scholarship House – A raffle of FSU football season
tickets is being held as a fundraiser. It has been identified that
the roof needs to be replaced on the house.
Distinguished Kiwanian Award – A form outlining the criteria was distributed.
Whole Child Project – Lauran Ausley made a presentation on this project which was created by the Lawton Chiles Foundation and targets children ages 0-5. Kiwanis is invited to be a partner in developing an initiative to assure all children thrive.
Flags For Schools – A new Florida Statute was passed requiring all classrooms to have flags. This may be an opportunity for Division 3 clubs to help purchase the flags. Jin Wylie is looking into cost.
Todd M. Beamer Foundation – This is another initiative that clubs may want to participate in which was formed to help children who experience a family trauma.
Lt. Governor Selection – The Monticello club nominee is unable to
accept the nomination. If they do not have another candidate then
the Perry club is next in line.
Club Reports:
Capital City –. Five new members and four more prospects. Completed annual onion sale Participated in Diaper Drop.
Lake Jackson – Involved in school flag project by purchasing flags for elementary schools.
Madison – Participated in Madison Diaper Drop, Project Graduation,
Take Stock in Children Scholarship and made $100 contribution for basketballs
for Madison Correctional Institute.

Tallahassee – Two new members. Raised $7600 at Ralph Davis
Golf Tournament. Participated in Diaper Drop, made $2500 contribution
to Boys and Girls Club, and $1500 TCC scholarship. Held family night
at Maclay Gardens
Tallahassee Killearn – Raised $6000 at golf tournament. Held
Chiles Key Club Awards Banquet and Aktion Club Picnic. One new member
and one loss. .
Tallahassee Northside – The club is now meeting at Mannas.
Very pleased with new location.
The next meeting will be held Monday, October 11, 2004.
