![]() The library is awash in eddies of shadow. Inside, lost in study, sits a solitary figure illuminated by one dying candle. His dark-hued robes are thrown back to reveal an angular nose, sunken eyes, and pale, almost ghoulish skin. One spidery hand, topped with dirt-encrusted nails, slowly turns the pages of a book. Startled by the interruption, he hisses at the door, his eyes narrowing and almost seeming to weigh the intruder's flesh. "So you want to know about Marrach's Library. Well you've come to the right man. I catalogued it, I know it. Over to your left you will find the Technique books. Most are abysmal, especially that moldering stack of pages someone jokingly referred to as a 'Rego Tome.' On the far wall you will find the Forms. Here the Covenant fares better. Corpus, a book I highly recommend, is third from the left; ignore the bloodstains. Animal and Mentem are towards the end, also excellent volumes. The rest, especially some of the baser elemental Forms, simply exist, with no merit or promise at all. Finally, to the right are loose spells and odd tomes, many dealing with alternate theories or esoteric studies and spells. "These solitary volumes represent all the knowledge this Covenant has to offer those such as ourselves. I suggest you take care with them, especially those volumes I have mentioned, for they are not easily replaceable, and displeasure will be great should they come to harm." |
