Positioning, Strategy & Execution
Day One for a New CEO --- Taking Charge
The article addresses the three most important executive team decisions I make stepping into a new company as President. You can’t fix all the problems of a company right away, but you can’t fix the company at all if you don’t address these three executive spots immediately.
Too often an organization looks to the sales department as the villain when the revenues fall short of target. Of course it couldn’t be the product or marketing or the CEOs fault! Unfortunately, sales is also the villain when they blow the numbers away because the free flowing commissions makes everyone nuts! It’s the “I built the product, why aren’t I driving a new BMW” syndrome.

A Perfect Storm for the Demise of Journalism...or the Rise of the Journalist?

I attended a Reynolds Journalism Institue's symposium and learned that capitalism and journalism are learning to become better bed-fellows. They are not waiting around for a government bailout, but working hard and thinking creatively to construct a strategy for journalism’s future success. Here's my take-away, publishing June 9, 2009 in EContent's Online Magazine.
